Our Mission
Bernie’s Buddies is a primarily dog and cat rescue and advocates that work in Huntington, WV, to help keep animals from euthanasia. We also take in a limited number of strays. In addition, we locally adopt or advocate from other rescues in other states.
Adoptable Pets

All pets are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, current on vaccines, and monthly prevention.

Bernie’s Buddies always looks for fosters, dog walkers, and volunteers to participate in local puppy training. You can also donate money or purchase food from our Amazon wish list. We also accept newspapers, blankets, leashes, and collars.

Bernie’s Buddies Rescue and Advocates has an Amazon WishList and a Chewy WishList for our animals in boarding and foster homes. This list includes regular food and veterinarian diets for those animals on restrictive diets for medical purposes. There are also toys and other needs for our animals. When you order off the list, it will be automatically shipped to Animal Care Clinic.
Bernie’s Buddies Bonfire store and etsy site
Some of the shirts we designed for campaigns and holidays are all on a bonfire store website. If you would like any of our shirts, they are found at the link below.
We also make bubblegum beaded dog necklaces on Etsy, and 100% of the proceeds go toward our medical bills and supplies.
Note: It takes a couple of weeks for shipping on the shirts.

What is a virtual foster?
Once you choose an animal to foster, we will send you a packet of information. It's a simple and joyful process. All you have to do is share your foster's information on your social media accounts and tag our rescue. We will send you pictures, bios, and fun facts about your foster, allowing you to share their journey with your followers. When you share your foster's information, remember to share the links to their adoption application, Amazon Wishlist, and more to spread the word about their availability. Feel free to ask to spend time with your virtual foster and take pictures with them.
What is the purpose of a virtual foster?
The goal is to get these pets out in the public eye and find their forever homes. Some people may only be looking to adopt once they see the perfect animal for them, and who knows, they may find them on your page. Our post can only be seen by so many people.
What are the guidelines?
As a reminder, all adoptions are approved through our rescue, and anyone interested in an animal will need to fill out an application and set up a meet-and-greet with our organization. Below is a link to our Linktree account, which has all of our main links. We will also send you a link to your foster's specific Amazon Wishlist.

We are doing things a little differently with these raffles. There will be a cut-off date on the raffles, but it will not be set until we reach the value of the raffle baskets.

Four different raffles are going on during this extravaganza. When you purchase your tickets, please specify which raffle you would like to put your tickets in. In Venmo and Paypal, put the raffle name in the memo on Facebook. Please send us a private message with your information and which raffle you want to enter. Facebook doesn't always tell us who the donor is.

This raffle includes a large paw print wreath that is beige and super soft. The black dog bone on the wreath says, "Welcome-ish Depends if you like dogs." There is also a sign that hangs on the wall that says, "It's a dog's life."
